The Sonnenstrahl Association was founded in 1997 by parents for parents.
1999 The premises in Italian street were opened with three groups for children between the ages of 1 – 3 years old and where the Sonnenstrahl office has been housed until 2017.
2008 The second Sonnenstrahl premises is opened in Völkendorf with two groups for children aged between 1 to 3 years old.
2012 In cooperation with Infineon the International Daycare Center (IDC), with 2 groups for children aged 1-3 years and 2 kindergarten groups for children aged 3-6 years, was opened.
2013 The Sonnenstrahl central kitchen is moved from Italian street to larger premises in Völkendorf.
2016 The International Daycare Center (IDC) has expanded with 2more kindergarten groups.
2017 The further premises in Völkendorf were opened with two groups for children between the ages of 1-3 years old. The office is moved from Italian street to Völkendorf.
Since 2015 Sonnenstrahl’s parents association has been the only shareholder of Sonnenstrahl GmbH. Through the elected executive committee members the parents have an impact on the development of the organisation as on the verification of the quality standards.
